What are the memories you remember from your elementary school days? Do those memories include hands-on activities or all paper/pencil projects? My students need materials to discover those fun, exciting memories that make them have a love for learning.
My classroom is in a Title I school with students coming from Spanish speaking home and low economic backgrounds.
I currently teach 1/2 day kindergarten, meaning I have 2 classrooms. In each classroom, I have 22 students who come to school ready and eager to learn each day. I would like the opportunity to give the students more time to explore, discover, and create more hands-on learning experiences.
My Project
All the items I have requested are important for students to have the chance to explore, discover, and create new learning experiences in which will instill a love of learning. The paint cups, collage buttons, wiggly eyes, liquid watercolors, ink pads, dot painters, dough cutters, and sand set will enhance the students learning experiences in ways that the students will remember and provide opportunities to create lifelong learning through individual discovering. The floor puzzles, rainbow parachute, and language folder games will allow the students more active learning time. The clothesline will better enhance our hallways be hanging our creative projects.
My students need hands-on materials to allow them to have experiences in exploring, discovering, and creating new learning experiences.
Children retain more knowledge when they are allowed to explore. Please help me allow my students the materials they need to become more successful in the classroom.
