Mrs. Simmons from Columbia SC is requesting technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need an iPad mini, protective case, and screen protector to create short commercials and multimedia presentations for upcoming plays and productions.

Cultivating creativity in the classroom. Theatre students learn skills in my classroom that go beyond the stage. Students in my class learn not only theatre skills, but life skills that transcend the classroom and stage.
My students are amazing!
My school serves a very diverse population, including a very low socio-economic group of children. These students don't have resources at home and their only exposure to technology is often through school. They need more opportunities to interact with technology to prepare them for our digital world.
I have requested an iPad mini, protective case, and screen protector so my students can create short commercials and multimedia presentations for upcoming plays and productions. Our school does not yet have a 1:1 ratio of computers to students. We have three computer labs and three classroom sets of iPads that can be checked out. However, these resources are in constant use. I want my kids to be able to use an iPad at any time to film and create short clips to promote their amazing class work. Students work so hard on their productions, but we need to make sure people come to the shows. I want students to create commercials that they can use to promote their productions. We don't always get to check out materials. We need something that will stay in our classroom that the students can use on a daily basis.
My program receives no outside funding.
We rely on ticket sales and show attendance to cover the costs of costumes, props, etc. Being able to film and create short commercials to promote our shows will not only give my students an excellent experience with marketing and advertising, but it will also allow the students to get more attendance to their shows to help increase their overall resources.
