I am a Reading Teacher for grades 2,3 and 4 in a small rural school. We are a K-12 building. I work with struggling readers whose families do not have the resources at home for home reading.

My students could benefit from having the opportunity to bring home recorded books to listen to. Many parents work long hours and have little time to read to their children. Having recorded books will allow these children to have their lives enriched with literacy.

Practice, practice, practice is my motto for struggling readers to become successful readers. Having recorded books to take home will allow my students the chance to hear the flow of language, increase their receptive vocabulary and develop a love of stories.
