Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come in each day eager to learn. They are so full of life and so excited to learn. I love watching them grow throughout the year and blossom into such amazing kids by the end of first grade.

I have a class of 18 students.

We are part of a title 1 school where everyone gets free breakfast and lunch because of the high poverty in this area. Not all of my students come from the best homes, but I want them to feel loved while they are with me and they return the favor daily.

My Project

I always try to include a craft in our weekly lessons. My students are so young I want them to have fun and make things that they can take home and hang on the refrigerator. I always try to align our crafts with our weekly skills, but most of all I want them to enjoy learning. With these art materials we will be able to make crafts all year. This would take the burden of buying these materials off of me, and help me to focus on planning engaging lessons for my kids.

This project would make a huge impact in my classroom.

I wouldn't have to worry about not having the materials I need to complete a project with my students. We would have the materials ready and waiting on the next fun activity we have planned.
