2012 has been a year of miracles! After successful treatment for Stage 4 Cancer, I have been blessed to return to the classroom with a most wonderful group of seventh graders. They love learning, and like most students their age, they love technology.
We live in a rural, farming community with beautiful state parks and wildlife.
What we do not have is a strong tax base and community funding. While many schools in our area have "one-to one" laptops for students, our technology funds have been spent on a new school and a new school addition in another part of the county Our older school has been on "the short end" of the new technology "stick."
My Project
I have often had dreams of having a classroom set of laptops for my students to use, but the cost has been prohibitive. You can imagine my excitement when I found out about this "once in a lifetime" opportunity! I have a Chromebook that I let my students use and they absolutely love it! When I told them of the possibility of getting a class set, they were so excited!
I have taught for 34 years, but no year has proved to be as rewarding as this year.
I want so much for my students, and I know they would benefit so very much from the donation of a class set of Chromebooks. Thank you for helping 2012 continue to be a "year of miracles!"
