My Students

I guarantee that we can all think of a teacher that sparked our interest in education. Whether he/she took the extra time to show he/she cared or found a way to help make education fun. Well, I want to make my students' first year in school one they never forget!

My students come from a variety of different backgrounds, but they all arrive in my classroom with that fire in their eye, showing me they are excited about learning.

Everyone of them looks forward to our next big adventure in literacy and what new thing they will learn. Each one of my students has their own special story to tell. Some of their stories can be out of this world, where others share stories that can break your heart. Each story is personal and opens your eyes to their world and what they are experiencing so, as their teacher, every story holds a special place in my heart. Everyone of these students, if given the opportunity, can be successful!

My Project

I am requesting art materials that will help to enhance my literacy lessons. Each week I supplement my literacy curriculum with a theme. These themes are based on monthly activities that may be occurring. For example, in March we celebrate Read Across America and I read Dr. Seuss books with my students Then they make different characters from the stories. The art supplies that I am asking you to donate will go a long in helping me make literacy more interactive and hands-on. Also, some of these supplies will be used across different curricula. The colored pencils will be used in writing and mathematics and the dot paints will be used in math to create patterns. Basically, these art supplies will help make learning more engaging for my students.

This supplies will help to make an impact on many students in my classroom.

They will help to provide my students with learning experiences that they will remember for a long time. As I think back on my educational process, I can always remember some of the neat things I did in kindergarten. These supplies will provide the students with lifelong memories and a good foundation in education.
