Club Uke: A Musical Experience

My Students

Kids love music. With budget issues and decreases in school funding, teachers are looking for ways to make sure their students still get some form of art or music education. YOU can help make sure a student has a chance to make music.

We are a semi-rural school in south central Kentucky.

We are 74% free and reduced lunch and have a large population of both first and second generation immigrants. My students love music and look for any chance that they can to listen to or work with it.

My Project

We are seeking funding for 10 Uke Starter packs in order to start an after school Uke Club. Students will meet weekly to learn and create music together. Students will be allowed to check out their instrument for home practice (that's what the warranty is for!!). Our end result will be to produce a concert before winter break and one before the end of the year. Also we will record music and post it online to share with other Uke players and our community.

Student's want to be involved and belong to something.

This project gives them another thing to be a part of. This project could be the one thing that a student comes to school for. This project could inspire a student to become a great artist. This project will make a difference.
