This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember how long it took teacher's to return quizzes or tests? I do and my high school classes were not NEARLY as big as they are now!

My students attend an urban high school in California.

They range from 14-18 years old and are taking Biology or Human Physiology Honors. They take weekly learning log quizzes that are returned as soon as possible in order to give them weekly feedback on their progress.

My Project

I have 176 students this year in 5 classes. For a science teacher, this is a lot of students! I give weekly quizzes because I want students to stay on top of their learning. This is one way to do it. I wish I could say that I return them the next day, but with 180 to grade, that is nearly impossible. I am requesting a Student Response System, which consists of 40 clickers. The clickers will be used for many years to come and will provide immediate feedback to my students on how they are doing in achieving the standards that they are required to achieve. Plus, students find taking clicker quizzes more interactive and more engaging.

With the number of students that I have, immediate feedback is very hard.

I wish to get clickers so that my students can see their progress towards the standards, and also that I can see what I have to go over again. Not only will students have immediate feedback about their performance, so will I!
