Clean Super Scientists!

My Students

Ahhhhh-Chooo! Without proper supplies to keep my classroom clean my students will continue to sneeze! I can't have healthy happy students who are ready to learn and focused on class if their bodies are not healthy because I don't have a clean place for them!

I say, Excellence!

They say, Ready! My students are highly motivated and ready to learn Science. At least 75% of them have already told me they love Science even though they are yet to fully enjoy the world of Science. My challenge to them is that they will become curious Super Scientists by the end of the year. They have taken up this challenge and work relentlessly to make sure they obtain at least a 80% mastery on all their objectives. They learn during class time and stay in during recess to practice what they have learned. They are trying their best to work really hard but at times it is not possible for them because they are sick and their immune systems are weak. I have at least seven students absent every day (between all 4 of my classes) and given that the education gap needs to be diminished so urgently, we cannot lose time by being stuck at home sick! We need to be in the classrooms, healthy and fit, so that we are attentive, focused and ready to learn about Science.

My Project

Our fifth grade Science class does a lot of projects (at least one a week!). At various times we might be cutting and pasting items, doing experiments with vinegar and baking soda (that might explode), practice our egg drop skills and try our best to learn as much as we can through hands-on activities! Hands-on activities only work out for the best if we have materials to learn clean up afterwords before we head over to our next class. We need to disinfect all the things our little hands touch everyday! These disinfecting wipes and Paper Towels will help keep my students healthy, and my classroom clean! During the whole school year we focus the best we can everyday, and we need to be in attendance everyday, not home sick!

This project is so important because it will allow my classroom to obtain the supplies that keep us healthy and ready to learn everyday!

Since we are a Title I school, many of our students do not have the finances to bring in the costly cleaning supplies we need! My students attend a Title 1 school where 99.99 (all but 1 student) students are on free and reduced lunch and I really want to keep my students healthy while teaching them life skills like hygiene!
