My Students

My school is a title one school and our supplies are limited. Students often ask me for a clay experience but we can only afford clay for special groups. Most of the students create with paper mache. My desire is to allow all my students to enjoy the joy of creating with clay.

We are a performing arts elementary school.

We are a title one school and the majority of our students experience new things only through our school. The students love art time, it provides exploration of self and the world around them. Also it provides a place of peace and tranquility.

My Project

Clay is a media that assists in developing cognition and stabilizing students who are angry or troubled. It is my desire to provide an experience that will benefit them all their lives. Creating with clay and exploring the possibilities would benefit these students greatly.

My project is important because I represent a link to the world of art to these students.

If I ignore their needs they are forgotten. They embrace the arts with such love that it shows me that the need is real and they don't have it met anywhere else.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
