My class loves to read! We are in need of class novels to enjoy and explore. Our goal is to increase reading comprehension, prepare for high school/college, and maintain our motivation toward reading great stories about real-world issues.
We are an eighth grade class in Georgia.
We have been working hard on preparing for high school, achieving our group/individual goals, and gaining new knowledge through reading. Our skills continue to progress and improve. We enjoy participating in group projects with books, research with books, and instructional centers with books. Our favorite stories are about young adult characters that overcome challenges.
Our classroom does not have a suitable amount of reading materials. Class novels would allow us to enjoy literature, share books with other classes, form book clubs, literature circles, create projects on the computer, and research. Books like 'The Outsiders' and 'Forged by Fire' are a critical need for our classroom, and these materials would allow us to engage in meaningful instruction with rigorous instructional units.
This project is important because many students do not have access to a selection of reading materials, and they are unable to visit the library regularly.
These class novels will provide students with excellent standards-based literature.
