My Students

In today's ever changing technological world, students need hands on collaborative learning to make the concepts we learn about in science real, fun and creative.

My students are active and engaged 5th graders who love hands on learning and using technology.

They are a diverse community of learners with many interests, ideas, and needs, who know they are Smarter, Together. By using each others' strengths for support and growth they are learning beyond the curriculum I provide.

My Project

The materials in this project will be educational tools individually, serving to teach the 5th grade science concepts of circuits and simple machines. However, much like my students, when used together the items can become more than the sum of their parts. The LittleBits kits and the K'nex can be combined to create machines with real functions and allow my students to explore beginner robotics. The LittleBits cloud kit will then allow them to use a smart phone or tablet to control their machine!

Donations to this project will allow my students to have hands-on experiences in a cooperative setting using circuits and machines.

The days of simply lighting a bulb are behind us. Cooperative learning and crowd sourcing ideas is the way that students will continue to grow. With your donation, these tools, and one another, these young engineers will truly become Smarter, Together.​
