This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

The world is at their fingertip and chromebooks would give them the access they need to learn more about the world. They are ready to engage in an online collaborative environment.

"Our third grade class is bright and smart.

We learn how to become better third graders. We are writing more and understanding poetry and analyzing poetry." "In our class we are learning a lot of stuff from Mr. Branch. He teaches us a lot. Now were learning to become anthropologist and anthropologist study all different cultures. We are learning to be one of them. We already studied all around the world." The third grade students here represent the brightest and most intelligent students of Baltimore City Public School students. They have a strong desire to learn and to search the world for answers. They have limited exposure to technology but have the desire to use technology to engage in group activities and collaborative work.

My Project

Students will be able to use Edmodo, an online classroom collaborative space. Students are able to send homework and classwork assignments to their teacher. Students who use the computers will be able to type and publish their work and be able to share with others in a meaningful and impactful way. Students will use the computer on a daily basis to take quizzes, answer poll questions, and be able to have their voice heard. "Our class would enjoy having computers to work on in class. I like using a computer because we can turn in our work faster. I could get better grades in Mr. Branch's class"

Having a chromebook for each student will help the students learn not only the basics of a computer, but be able to find the information to answer the millions of questions they have about the world.

With the new Common Core testing students need to be prepared to type well crafted essays on the computer. Having immediate access to a computer will give them the skill necessary to excel in publishing their thoughts and opinions.
