Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The excitement that the kids showed after I asked them to be a part of this was heartwarming. A few students expressed interest in obtaining Chromebooks for the class. Peter, Mia, Abbie, and Molly took the reigns and decided to to tackle the project to benefit all of the students in class.
We recently completed a fundraising round in which the students collected their spare change, we were able to purchase some technology for the classroom. In order to get the best use out of this technology, the students decided it would be beneficial to get Chromebooks to mirror onto our new TV.
By allowing students to interact with the Chromebooks and connect wirelessly to the TV, they will be able to share their work collaboratively and work together on group projects. Also, the students have done the research on the products that they wanted, and determined based on specs, user reviews, and professional reviews, which would work best for our class. By providing students with technology in the classroom, they will be preparing themselves to do research and work together in a manner much more suitable to the 21st century learning skills.

The goal we are trying to accomplish is to get a proper education with technology that we can count on. As the world around us takes a step forward with technology, schools are left in the dust. With the Chromebooks, we will able to rely on the technology and excel. We are the future. We need the best to become the best. It will allow us to connect tirelessly to the network and will help our teacher help us.
With the right tools, we can exceed the expectations given to us and build a brighter and better future for those around us. We are the next doctors, lawyers, judges, presidents, etc in our community. We choose to make the most of what is given to us. If we get the Chromebooks, the projects we embark in will help illuminate our minds and inspire us to help others.
In obtaining the Chromebooks, our school community will not only benefit from it now, but so will the generations of young minds after us. The thirst of knowledge in us as students will be quenched when this advanced technology becomes available to us.
