My Students

Do you know the feeling of running to catch the bus only to see it pull away down the street? Many of our students will be feeling that same way when it comes to technology learning and integration as they continue their educational careers.

The students in our district have many aspirations and are excited to try new things.

Unfortunately, as teachers, we are unable to fully capitalize on this excitement and drive because we don't have the resources to provide them with those experiences. These students are hungry to get their hands on technology and materials to further expand their experiences. Our school has been moving in a positive direction and would like to allow those students to continue to expand and explore the possibilities available to them through online learning.

My Project

The students in our sixth grade team ( about 120 students) will be using these Chrome books on a regular basis to access an online learning portal to begin completing coursework. The online coursework allows students to be engaged in and out of the classroom in their classwork, participate in discussion forums, take assessments online to receive immediate feedback, be able to use assistive technology and have materials read to them as they work through the course, and much more. These devices will be used for collaboration with their peers and teachers, sharing the writing process, learning to use email and other online communication platforms, research and project development, as well as development of online citizenship. The potential for learning and growth with these devices is limitless. Students will enter their higher educational experiences with confidence and the skills necessary to be independent digital learners.

Donations to this project would be providing the tools necessary to make all of our students career and college ready.

Without access early and often to these types of technological tools, students are already "missing the bus." Please consider how much workers and scholars use these tools. Without your help, our students go another year without access to the formative skills and aptitude necessary to take their success to the next level. Please consider making a huge difference for them!
