Chrome Books for Collaboration and Robotics

My students need 4 chromebooks to use for group collaboration during microscope labs, research projects, and group robotics projects.

My Students

In our Life Science classroom, the students are challenged daily to think like a scientist. We learn through discovery, lively discussions, and hands-on laboratories.

The 7th graders in this classroom are active and curious.

They challenge me daily with questions that are out of the ordinary and push the objective further. We have extended labs and demos through further experimentation. Their ideas and their critical thinking skills impress me almost everyday!

My Project

These chromebooks will be used daily for groups to interact through engaging programs that can be projected through my TV. Students will comment and collaborate via google classroom, and all other google programs. Instead of the teacher always providing feedback, students will respond to one another. This will create more buy in among students since they know their peers will be reviewing their work. We plan to use these chrome books to support our elective STEAM class through a robotics unit. Students will learn the programming and have the opportunity to develop a robot in groups. Having chrome books will allow for students to take control of their learning making this a student centered environment.

My students will be engaged and motivated throughout our Life Science assignments and projects since they will have the privilege to learn and work via a chrome book.

My hope is that students see the benefit of online collaboration and learn to become good digital citizens as well as challenge them to think like a programmer! I hope to inspire students to become a robotics engineer or program developer through the use of chrome books and our Robotics curriculum.
