My students need books. They struggle with social skills. I would read aloud the character education books and then teach social skills by role playing and activities.

My Students

Do you still think its important to use manners? Do kids say please and thank you? My special education students are learning appropriate social skills through our character education program. My class learns from hands on activities, role playing and skits.

My students are special education students with language and learning disabilities in third through fifth grade.

There is an emphasis on learning both social and academic skills including problem solving skills. Instructional programs are developed to meet students at their present level academic performance and progress according to the students’ own pace. Instructional programs are built individually to insure success and confidence at school with the ultimate goal of increased activity in the regular education class.

My Project

Thank you for this wonderful opportunity to meet my student's individual needs. I appreciate your generosity. I am hoping to buy read aloud books that focus on character education traits. I asked for three sets of books from Lakeshore. The books can be read aloud or individually. I am excited to have the chance to provide my students with these books. My students enjoy read aloud stories and activities. I am hoping I can share them with other teachers too.

Your donation will provide me with an opportunity to buy books for classroom.

I am hoping my students will gain independent skills and will feel more comfortable to socialize with their classmates.
