My students need heart monitors so they can monitor their activity levels.

My Students

Do you remember when you were in PE and your teacher asked you to work harder and you thought I can't work any harder. With a heart rate monitor you can physically see if it's possible.

My students are in grades 6-8 boys and girls.

Many are low income, 249 students out of 529 receive free lunch. Some love to move and others just do what they have to in order to get by. They attend a brand new school in Missouri, with little funds for PE. These students just don't know what is available and what they are missing out on.

My Project

With the introduction of 8 heart rate monitors we will be able to see the heart work. When my students see their heart beating they will be able to know what's left in the tank. Can you imagine driving a race car and not having a tack gage. You'd blow your motor or you wouldn't push it to the max. My students will learn to push themselves past the basic.

This project is so important because students need to understand what their heart can do.

With this equipment we will be able to teach our students the importance of staying in their target heart rate.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
