My Students

"I can't see. Can I move closer to the front so I can see the board?"

The group of students I have this year make me dread the end of the school year.

They are wonderful, kind, and courteous. But, they can't see from the back of the classroom. When our school opened 11 years ago, we had so many students that even from that first year, we've had portable classrooms. That's the type of classroom I teach in.

My Project

I love teaching in a portable classroom because they do tend to be a bit larger than the other rooms; however, they're shape limits the layout of the student's desks. If we had a document camera the students, no matter where their desks were in the classroom, would be able to see better.

The time spent walking around the classroom in order to adequately show the details of the fossils I'm sharing or the specifics of the worksheet I'm introducing could be minimized with a document camera.

In the time saved, we could be showing even more, maximizing learning and impact!
