My Students

Have you ever sat down at the computer and the keyboard didn't work or the Internet wouldn't connect? It is VERY frustrating! My students are using headphones that do not fit their little heads and worst of all the headphones are missing padding so they hurt their little ears.

I teach first grade at a southern Louisiana school.

Our school is a high risk school located near the projects. Our school's parental involvement is getting better but is still very low. The students that attend our school are very eager and willing to learn.

My Project

I requested the headphones because every day my students get onto the computers in the classroom and complain about their little ears hurting or the headphones slipping down. It is very distracting for them and takes away their concentration from the task at hand. They have to get onto the computers every day. Once a week we go to the computer lab and we have to search for working headphones. This takes time and we only have one hour in the lab.

I know how frustrating it is to get onto my computer at home and the keyboard is acting up or the Internet will not connect.

Our students have enough frustration in their little lives to not have to deal with broken or worn out headphones.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
