This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

To listen or not to listen, that is the question. As class sizes grow, our old equipment and classroom struggle to handle the volume. Each child wants to hear the story at the listening center but we only have room for three.

I have a class of fresh-faced Kindergartners who want to experience everything school has to offer.

They know that this is the year they will learn to read. One component of learning to read is listening to literature and one of the favorite activities in my classroom is listening to our curriculum based stories so accommodating as many students as I can at the listening center is vital.

My Project

The listening station I have now is wired for three students because of space. In order for everyone to have a turn to listen to a story it takes about ten rounds of sharing this equipment to service each student. If I had this wireless listening equipment I could have eight students listening at a time while they sat at their desks which would cut down on the time it takes to meet everyone's needs.

Will Grandma get saved from the Big Bad Wolf?

Will the Gingerbread Man live to see another day? Will Johnny learn to read? Of course he will but his job would be made easier and more interesting if he is able to listen to great literature made possible by this wireless listening equipment. Help Johnny find out what joy reading can bring.
