Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are living in a world of technology and I feel that it is important for teachers to use that in their lessons. Most of my students are unable to buy graphing calculators and these three calculators will allow me to let a few students borrow them and use them for their homework.

Stimulating minds with technology.

My students are living in a world where technology is in the palm of their hands but their teachers are using outdated technology and I feel that by them having extra calculators in the classroom, I would be able to better reach my students by using modern technology. I teach approximately 100 Algebra 1 RSP students and 70 Algebra 2 students. Both groups would benefit from the calculators. The Algebra 1 students have learning disabilities and the calculators would allow me to add visuals to my lessons to help them better understand the concepts that are being taught. The Algebra 2 students benefit from the graphing calculators by learning how to use them for more difficult problems and being prepared for college level math courses.

My Project

Graphing calculators received through donations from Donors Choose will give students the access to technology that they cannot afford and allow me to enhance my lessons to better reach my students and connect them with the modern technology that is necessary for them to be successful in the this World of technology.

These calculators will make a difference in my students lives because they will allow me to loan out calculators to students that would never have the opportunity to use them due to the fact that they can not afford to buy one for themselves.
