My students need 21 books, including "Esperanza Rising", "Animal Farm", "Artemis Fowl" and the "Brian's Saga Series".

My school is a charter school currently serving 65 students. Here, students learn the value of education based on personal motivation - becoming lifelong thinkers, learners and leaders. Literacy is a focus at our school. Our daily schedule includes 45 minutes of silent reading while classical music is playing. This is the best time of day to see students engaged with literature, students who were previously disengaged from learning as a whole.

We desire to build a library with a wide range of materials to choose from based on our students' interests and reading levels.

We need to provide our students a library with a wide selection of books to choose from, based on our own students' needs and interests. Students who choose books to read from our library sign the books when they are finished and include a short description of why they liked book. Readers are then able to choose books based on feedback from their peers. In this way, students and staff help to build a library that serves the interests and needs of all our students.

Your support to help build our library with books will promote student literacy by encouraging our students to share their interests with each other, develop a lifelong love of reading, and build pride in themselves as they help build our school library.
