Building a Classroom Library to Build a Classroom of Readers

My students need 7 sets of leveled books to use for independent reading practice. They need little books for their little kindergarten hands, and these readers would be perfect!

My Students

Learning to read is a big task! It gets even harder when you don't have enough books. Please help my students learn to read by putting appropriate leveled books into their hands.

My kindergarten students come from a range homes, amongst them I have students living with both parents, living with a single parent, living with grandparents, living in low income housing, and a few who are English language learners.

They are a community of little learners eager to see what kindergarten holds. They attend a public school in Massachusetts.

My Project

We are continually telling (and being told) that "practice makes you better." I need to provide daily opportunities for my students to practice reading. As a new teacher, I do not have a large classroom library and have zero leveled readers, which are necessary for reading practice. These books will help my students build their independence, confidence, and of course build their reading skills!

Your donation will make a difference by helping me build a new generation of readers.

These leveled readers are books that my students will be able to read on their own. The different levels provide my students a means to gain confidence as they grow as readers. When young students feel confident that they can be successful, they begin on a path of life long learning. Help me send my students down that path.
