My students need a camcorder and microphone so we can broadcast our weekly meetings and have video conferences with others interested in finance and investing.

My Students

My students want to connect with other students that are interested in personal finance and investing. Broadcasting our weekly meeting via Livestream and video chatting via Skype is how we've decided to expand our reach and improve our understanding of the financial world.

Most students in the investment club are 10th-12th graders that desire a more financially prosperous life than they currently have.

These students are highly motivated to make their lives better. They recognize hard work and education will make a huge difference in their ability to succeed. Our southern California school is extremely diverse and the students in the investment club reflect that diversity. I have ESL students or students in the free lunch program working/learning with AP students or students from financially secure families. That being said, the differences do not matter to my students. Their common goals and interests bring them together during their lunchtime and after school to discuss personal finance, stock market investing, careers in finance and philanthropy. My students work hard to raise investment funds, research investments and make profitable investments to support our school.

My Project

My students manage real-money in the real stock market. We meet weekly during lunch and daily online to discuss personal finance, careers in finance, and investment options for our real-money student-managed investment portfolio. I'm requesting a digital camcorder and a wireless microphone system for my students so we can record and broadcast our investment club meetings via the Internet. This will allow other students from around the world to learn with us and contribute to our online investment discussion via our student managed web site. It will also allow us to stay in contact with our alumni that are now studying finance at the universities.

Knowing how to manage your money and make your money work for you is of vital importance to EVERYONE reading this, but it is NOT taught in the public education system.

The Charity Student Investment Project has been educating and inspiring students since 2009. I know dozens of students that are now saving and investing instead of spending and wasting because of their experience with the CSIP. Please help them gain the knowledge and experience that we know will change their lives.
