This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember your favorite math teacher? Everyone has one. I remember mine, Ms. Gorley, she was great because she made math exciting for everyone by incorporating technology into the classroom.

I teach in a high needs school in the District of Columbia.

My school is full of bright and creative students who are willing to learn. Unfortunately, many of my students are 3-4 years behind grade level. I find it incredibly difficult to make my content accessible to every student due to the fact that I teach in an inclusion setting. I need to cater to various learning styles so that ALL of my students can be successful.

My Project

An LCD projector will allow me to provide my students with an engaging atmosphere in which they can learn and apply math to the outside world! I would love to incorporate math instructional videos and games to reinforce and build on basic skills. I would like to bring math to life for my students so they can see how truly relevant the material is to their lives outside of school.

My students will benefit from having an LCD projector in our classroom!

I will reinvent myself as a teacher to ensure that each student is engaged and actively participating. Technology is one way we can bridge the gap between our inner city schools and the wealthier suburban schools.
