Bridging Gaps in Math and Science Through Books

My students need math and science picture books to support their learning of difficult concepts.

My Students

Technology is great, but you can't beat the feel of a book in your hands. My students love reading, but have a hard time with math and science. So what better way to help bridge that gap then to teach using literature.

My students may come from average or low income houses, but they deserve and extraordinary education.

They are hard workers and have a desire to achieve greatness. They come prepared everyday to give their best and I want to make sure that our classroom has all the materials necessary to enable them to be successful.

My Project

My students would be using these books to connect the dots of math and science concepts and skills taught in class. Through picture books, these 2nd graders will be able to extend their learning by reading and reinforcing what is being taught. This integration of reading with math and science will help strengthen them into well rounded learners.

These books will greatly impact my students by giving them another pathway to learning outside of pencil and paper.
