My Students

Isn't it a great feeling when you find a book that you can't put down? I absolutely love finding that one book in which you ignore all phone calls, turn off the TV, and curl up on the couch all morning.

I have a great group of 5th graders that make up all the colors of the rainbow.

They come from different backgrounds and cultures making our room a unique environment to be in. We learn everyday from each other and appreciate the opportunities we have.

My Project

The resources I am asking for are a few sets of grade level appropriate novels. These novels provide reader's with a deeper level text which will help improve vocabulary and engage in rich discussions. Our current reading textbook is a collection of stories which only have a couple of pages of a story. Putting books into our students' hands will empower to activate their imagination.

We really can benefit from resources like this in our school district.

These books will not only benefit my class, but the whole grade level. Students will be able to interact with the books and form their own opinions.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
