My Students

Do you remember learning something new in a book you were reading and the excitement you had to share that information with someone?

My 23 kindergarten students come from diverse families.

Some students speak two languages and have limited English. I work in one of the largest urban schools in the state and resources for students at home and school are limited. Students come to school everyday excited and eager to learn. They want to be there and show their enthusiasm for learning on a daily basis.

My Project

The books I am asking for will help students to learn about the community and world they live in. The books will also help students enhance their learning and help them find excitement in reading, creating life long readers and learners. The books will help build literacy skills for all of my students.

This project is very important to me because putting books in children's hands at school is important to me because some of my students do not have books at home and this is their only chance to find a love for reading.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
