My students need advanced books (that they will actually enjoy reading) for improving literacy.

My Students

Students at a higher reading level should be able to find books they enjoy to read, too!

I teach a class of fifth-grade students in the Bay Area.

We are a STEM magnet school and do many hands-on activities with science. Our school is small, and we have a strong sense of community. My students love reading because it takes them away to new places.

My Project

We currently do book clubs but it's been challenging to find advanced books for my students at higher reading levels. With these books, my students will meet in small groups to discuss the literature they've been reading. Talking to each other will give them new insights to the story, and help them develop important listening and speaking skills.

It's a wonderful feeling when my students tell me they loved a book they've just read.

I'm hoping that my advanced 5th-grade students will still have access to great literature. Thanks for your support!
