Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Einstein said, "If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough." This quote is one I try to instill in my students daily.

My student population is diverse however the majority of my students come from Hispanic background.

About half of my students are English Language Learners. I also have students with special needs and learning disabilities. All my students are in the first year of high school.

My Project

The large magnetic Bohr Model will help my students learn several chemistry concepts. This visual will allow my students see the clear distinction of the three subatomic particles and their roles. They will learn how to place the electrons on the orbital energy levels.

My teaching practice is to show my students visuals to help make these science concepts tangible for them.

Allowing them to take a hands on approach has shown to improve their understanding of science.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
