Beautiful Music to My Ears, Well Maybe Not

My students need 15 good quality headphones sets that work and fit because the headphones we have now are old and damaged.

My Students

Imagine trying to learn how to play the keyboard, with headphones that have only one ear that works. Imagine trying to hold the headphone with one hand while trying to play with the other. Imagine how difficult it would be playing the keyboard with such a headphone. Please save our fingers and ears.

The students at the PES enjoy learning and exploring new things especially when it comes to learning music.

Students from Pre-K to 5th grade are exposed to most areas of art including music and dance. The Kindergarten classes have music twice a week and the other grades have music only once a week. We often have concerts presented in our school where the performers encourage our students to learn music at their young age. Students are motivated to learn how to play the keyboards in my music class. Their unquenchable thirst for musical challenges motivates me to provide them with the reliable equipment for them.

My Project

Having reliable equipment will not only enable these young musicians to practice with less physical distractions such as fiddling around with the old headphones, it will also help them hear the music more clearly in both ears. In return, they will reach to higher musical levels by practicing more efficiently. They will also be confident and ready to play for assemblies in our school.

My students need 15 headphones in our keyboard lab to replace the 15 that have broken from wear and tear.

It will be a joy to see these young musicians using professional grade headphones while practicing. This will make them feel like famous recording stars. Imagine seeing another classical, jazz pop musician emerging from our school because they are able to practice effectively.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
