My Students

Do you remember what its like to complete a fun and simple art project? Middle school is such a complicated time for students. Sometimes students need a relaxing activity that still helps them review. "Be a Math Detective" project lets students have fun while still reviewing content.

My math students are very fortunate to attend our school!

It is one of the best middle schools in our county. Students rotate through four content classes, two connection classes, and an extended learning time class. 6th grade is the first time students have a locker and have to rotate to different classes.

My Project

"Be a Math Detective" project lets students review content while enjoying in class arts and crafts time. In middle school there is so much pressure about grades and mastering content. Students needs varied forms of classroom instruction so content does not get overwhelming or boring. Incorporating arts and crafts helps keep students excited about math!

This review activity can be used multiple times through the school year, as we progress through the math standards.

The scissors can be used on other in class projects. My students will be so excited to use "grown up" type scissors! The paper, markers, and tape will also help the project look beautiful. My students will be proud of their work!
