This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students deserve a science classroom lab with equipment and instruments that not only help them be scientists but make they feel like scientists as well.
My 7th and 8th graders are thirsty for science knowledge and experiences.
Having never really experienced a true classroom science lab they are eager to participate and embrace this new challenge. They come from an economically disadvantaged area and could benefit from a rich science background to help break the cycle of poverty.
My Project
With the basic supplies of calculators, scales and lab equipment my students will be able to conduct experiments and analyze their data. With a primary focus on physical science we will be measuring, determining mass and finding volumes on almost a daily basis.
Your donation will help to foster a hands-on science classroom.
My students have had very little experience in a science classroom lab-like setting. In order for them to envision careers in the field of science they need to have this experience now as middle school students. Not only will these items help them to dream, but they help them prepare for high school and possibly advanced placement courses.
