Authors Of The Future

My students need 1 writing center to help them write with peers and become great authors and 2 sets of storage sacks to enhance organizational skills.

My Students

Teaching in a rural school community is a difficult challenge for our students. Facing challenges daily is extremely hard to overcome while trying to reach a potential of reading and writing. Enhancing writing skills will help students in reading as well as other academic areas!

Many of my students live in homes of poverty.

Parents try very hard to raise their children in these extreme situations, but hard times makes this very difficult. I have first graders that travel to different homes and do not have standard stability to call a home. The school environment is the only good environment that many of my children can relate to daily for peer interactions and a stable environment. These are wonderful children that need help in expressing themselves to help them succeed to their greatest potential and to help them become wonderful adults to fulfill our society in the future.

My Project

My students will greatly benefit from the use of 1 writing center. They will be able to organize and write, expressing their feelings while working on one of the most valuable academic subjects. Writing is so important and will be so valuable to each of my students as they proceed to higher levels of learning. Not only is writing well an important expression of themselves, but great authors started at an early age of thinking "outside the box." A writing center will enhance my students with materials at their fingertips and will help them stay organized with these materials. I am also requesting 2 sets of seat storage pockets for their chairs. They are very unorganized at this early age, and storage pockets will help them with skills to become organized and teach them how important these skills will inspire and become so useful in years ahead.

Implementing a writing center will greatly help my students to become authors of our future.

Once again, great authors have started at a very early age. Important factors of life start with great writers. By helping my class with this great project, I will see a big difference in each of my students academic achievement. Storage pockets are a great way to teach life skills and show my students that we all want them to become high achieving adults in the future!
