Throughout the school year my students create hands-on projects in reading language arts, and social studies. Many students do not come to school with any supplies. We will use these supplies to create interactive notebooks, posters, story cubes, children's books, Egyptian pyramids, and much more!
My sixth grade students come from very diverse backgrounds.
We have many students who receive free or reduced lunch, and some who are homeless. My classroom includes students with special needs as well as talented and gifted students. We have students from all over the world. My classroom is culturally and economical diverse.
My Project
My students will use these materials throughout the year for many projects in reading, language arts, and social studies. They will be used to create interactive notebooks, posters, story cubes, Egyptian pyramids, coat of arms, biographies, poetry, children's books, game boards, and much more. They will learn about ancient civilizations in social studies, various book genres in reading class, and how to become better and more creative writers in language arts.
Most of my students learn best when engaged in hands-on projects.
Without these supplies, many of the projects we normally do will not be possible due to the cost. Students will learn how to work cooperatively in groups while creating these projects. The materials will also allow students to create posters and projects to share with the class and to be proudly displayed in our school.
