Apple Tree Arts Preschool Music Program

My Students

Our preschoolers have been enjoying music classes from Apple Tree Arts for many years. Our local community partnership originally had enough funds to pay for the yearly contract. Over the years these funds have become non-existent. Please help us pay for this wonderful music opportunity.

Our preschool classes are integrated in that 50% of the children have special needs and 50% are typically developed.

The children range in age from 3 to 5 years old. Our school is in a suburban community and houses the preschool classrooms as well as grades three and four. Our school receives funds through Title I.

My Project

Apple Tree Arts has provided education in music and movement to our preschoolers for many years. The children use instruments and investigate musical techniques in song and movement. The majority of our contract with Apple Tree Arts has been paid for through parent contributions, P.T.O. contributions and recycling fundraisers. With donations through DonorsChoose.org we will be able to pay the balance of our contract for this year, and keep enjoying music in the classroom.

Since our preschool classes can no longer count on funds from the local community partnership to help pay for this music program, we have sought out various ways to fund it ourselves.

In the past, we have received a small grant from the local cultural council. We have also collected recyclable materials and turned them in for cash. Parents have been asked to support the program through a small payment of $15.00 per child. Our local P.T.O. has also supported the music program with a donation. Please help pay the balance for the remaining year!

Ingrid Murphy (Miss Ingrid visits our preschool classrooms 5 times a month to offer high-quality, impassioned music education that supports lifelong learning. This is an ongoing activity. Miss Ingrid has been visiting our classrooms for several years. Our current contract started October 2011 and will end June 2012.
