This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
"With ignorance comes fear-from fear comes bigotry. Education is the key to acceptance," Kathleen Patel said. Student bullying has been increasing at my school and we are in need to educate our students to put a stop to it!
We are located in a high populated low-income neighborhood.
Our school is next to a methadone clinic where are students get to experience first hand the reality of their surroundings. In addition, we are categorized as a Title I school for having a high percentage of low socioeconomic families and limited English proficient students.
Being new at this school, I have experienced a high level of student bullying in the school setting. My students are caring and always eager to learn new concepts but when it comes to the social interactions, they tend to get caught up in bullying issues. My students are good in nature but they need the tools necessary to identify what is bullying and how it can be stopped. Therefore, I believe my students would benefit from anti-bullying enrichment activities at school. I have joined forces with another teacher to end the cycle of bullying among my students. With the support, my students can make a difference when it comes to bullying.
My Project
My partner teacher has been funded to promote a anti-bullying zone at school. Therefore, I would like to join forces with her to continue our mission to end bullying. To start, "Bullying in Schools" will serve as a powerful teaching tool and resource. The book will be used to teach my students how to stop, prevent, and cope with bullying when they get caught in those social settings. In addition, I would like to have a Samsung Series 5 Slate Tablet to promote students to read other anti-bullying literature. The tablet will make it possible to download an infinite amount of anti-bullying literature. With the use of the tablet, students will be intrigued to read and help them to develop good character characteristics in the real world.
I know that having the book "Bullying in Schools" and the Samsung Series 5 Slate Tablet in the classroom will promote the awareness of bullying in the school and students will be able to transfer the new knowledge in the future.
I believe students will be educated and empowered to become great individuals and stop the cycle of bullying! My belief and the vision of Townsend Press will make bullying a thing of the past. Please help eliminate the cycle of bullying today!
