We are located in a high populated low-income neighborhood. Our school is next to a methadone clinic where are students get to experience first hand the reality of their surroundings. In addition, we are categorized as a Title I school for having a high percentage of low socioeconomic families and limited English proficient students. Being new at this school, I have experienced a high level of student bullying in the school setting. My students are caring and always eager to learn new concepts but when it comes to the social interactions, they tend to get caught up in bullying issues. My students are good in nature but they need the tools necessary to identify what is bullying and how it can be stopped. Therefore, I believe my students would benefit from anti-bullying enrichment activities at school. I have joined forces with another teacher to end the cycle of bullying among my students. With the support, my students can make a difference when it comes to bullying.
