Do you remember your kindergarten teacher? Learning begins in kindergarten and it is one of the most important years in a child's life.
I have 23 amazing kindergartners that arrive everyday to school excited and ready to learn.
They are an amazing bunch who truly enjoy learning. Each child is a unique individual with unique experiences. Several of my students enter kindergarten as their first school experience so it is important to make it a fun and enriching experience for all students. We are located in Seattle, WA and are in one of the largest school districts in the state. Being in a large school district, we are often forgotten. However, my students are appreciative and make the best out of everything!
My Project
Imagine entering a classroom where there is nothing to write on besides a chalkboard. We are requesting an easel to help make learning so much easier for us. It is important that teachers model for students and have students apply the skill afterward. By having an easel that is movable, we can learn from different areas in the room. The easel will allow all students to easily see math problems being solved and provide students the opportunity to teach their peers by modeling for them. The easel will be used daily in our classroom during all content areas, such as in mathematics, science, writing, and reading.
An easel will provide not only the teacher but the students a writing surface that can be movable around the room and provide hands-on learning opportunities.
All students should have an equal opportunity to be successful and it is important that teachers receive the resources that they need to help their diverse learners.
