Airliner Will Help Me Prepare Students For College

My Students

My students attend an inner-city, college prep charter school in Indiana. The school began 5-1/2 years ago, and it has quickly become one of the most successful in the state. We are one of the few 4-star inner-city schools in the state, and we continue to make gains. We serve a high poverty population that needs our constant support. Each class our students take is an honors level class, as the school is an accelerated one. We expect every senior to apply to a selective college or university, and so far 100% of our graduates have attended 4 year schools. Help me prepare these 8th graders for the challenges they will face in the future challenging high school classes.

Smart Board technology has revolutionized my classroom.

Unfortunately, I'm stuck to the front of my room because I need to be near the Smart Board to use it. My students need me to be mobile so I can review their work as I teach. The Airliner will give me that ability.

My Project

My students need a wireless tablet (Airliner) to use our Smart Board technology more effectively; the tablet will increase my mobility and their engagement. I can bring grammar and literature to life more effectively weaving PowerPoint presentations, videos, and interactive board lessons with students. I can more effectively prepare my students to attend college with this tool.

I need mobility so I can check their work as I teach.

I don't want a single student to under-perform just because I can't check his work. I want every student to meet our high level college prep expectations.
