This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students have bright, intelligent minds that focus on many things all at once. In certain situations this ability allows them to pick up on many details but during class time this same ability is called ADHD.

The middle school students in my Special Day Class loop with me for three years.

In addition to their documented disabilities they live in a violent and dangerous neighborhood. Between their disabilities and the distractions in the neighborhood my students have an ever difficult time focusing in the classroom.

My Project

Right now my students sit on hard chairs and the sensation makes them focus on the the physical feelings instead of what is going on in class. I want my students to have every opportunity to learn in a distraction free classroom. With 3 inflatable disks to sit on and with new bean bag pellets my students will have soft places to sit which helps them get the wiggles out and allows them to concentrate on learning.

Your donation to this project will make it possible for my super star students with the most severe ADHD to concentrate in class and that is the best gift!
