My Students

A teacher's job goes way beyond teaching reading, writing, and arithmetic! We are also responsible for building positive responsible citizens. Often times we are the only positive influence that some of our students experience from day to day.

My students are a group of special education students who are participating in a full inclusion program in an inner city high school.

Many of my students work hard and are all fully engaged in their own learning. Some of my students however, often fall into undesirable situations and attribute their learning deficiencies as the main cause. These students are often victims of bullying or bullies themselves.

My Project

The bullying books will educate my secondary inner city students on how to fight bullying in and out of school. The laptop will be used as a center and a live blog spot for victims of bullying. The students will rotate and share in the responsibility of maintaining the blog spot and posting helpful tips to bully victims. Students can also teach their peers The importance of using the Internet responsibly by refraining from using the Internet as a tool to bully.

Your generosity to my classroom will make it possible for my students, now and in the future, to combat bullying once and for all.

My students will be able to participate in local community projects against bullying, create blogs to help support victims of bullying, and be an example to their peers by showing the true meaning of responsible Internet usage. With your help, we can continue to fight bullying and build a unique community that embraces the needs of everyone.
