A Place For Everything and Everything In Its Place

My students need compartment organizers and pocket charts in order to keep track of their homework, important parent letters, and papers that have already been graded.

My Students

My students have not yet been able to experience this particular skill because of lack of resources. There is a quote my class has "We are what we repeatedly do, excellence is not an act but a habit." With this quote and the needed resources, my students' self-esteem will only flourish.

My heart goes out to ESE students.

I believe these students deserve the best opportunities that life can give them. ESE students are often shortchanged in the educational system. In a class where both ESE and Basic students make up the population, it is even more difficult for those individuals to be organized. On various levels ranging from down syndrome to specific learning disabled, I teach a wide variety of levels ranging from first grade to on grade level which is fourth grade.

My Project

I am requesting mailbox storage containers, pocket charts, and pocket portfolios. With the mailboxes, important papers such as parent letters, school calendars, student remediation documents, and student forms. With the pocket charts, the graded papers that the students do weekly can be held in a more concise place eliminating papers lying all over the room and their desks. The pocket portfolios will help the students keep their homework together, as well as keeping their library information all in one place so that it is easy access for the students to get to and then it becomes easier for them to keep track of.

This project will not only impact their academic career, but also benefit them in life.

With your donation, you are not only just helping to purchase classroom materials, but you are impacting the life of a child who is unable to benefit from what most "basic" students are benefiting from. Organization teaches responsibility, and with this being taught to these students, they will be able to live more successful lives by learning organization and responsibility early in life.
