A Place for Everyone, Everyone in Their Place

My students need 4 chairs and a table for a place to work with the reading assistant.

My Students

Can you imagine how frustrating it would be if you had to move your furniture every time you wanted to work on something? Well that's what we have to do every time my emergent readers have to get with our reading assistant.

I teach third grade in a small, city school, in a self contained regular classroom.

My students love working in groups and getting together to read with the reading assistant, but do not have a good place to do that. My students are working to be life long readers and enjoy everyday reading and book discussion, now if they just had a good place to work.

My Project

With this table and chairs, we would have a good place to work with our groups and not have to move our desks and chairs around and waste reading time. They would be able to work together and rotate from group work to individual work spaces without the hassle of moving or borrowing furniture.

Transition from intervention to whole group instruction without having to haul chairs across the room, would help keep us focused for morning reading block.

We also move around for math and many other times during or busy day. It would be great to be organized and not have to move our chairs and desk to make small group when we need to work. Thank you for any donations you can make towards our project.
