Seeing is believing. Please help!!! I really need a document camera in my classroom. Let me tell you why!

My students are struggling readers. Fluency is poor and their ability to decode words as they read impedes their fluency. They have no support at home and come to school with very little background knowledge to draw from. Reading is the opportunity to open doors to their future.

My students need a document camera in our classroom. With this, I would be able to project written material and work with students to overcome their reading difficulties. We could work on decoding strategies with written text. This would be very beneficial for students in reading comprehension and fluency. Students must have these reading strategies in their personal tool box to be a successful reader. If these strategies are not mastered in the early years of reading, these students will experience a lifetime of frustration that can possibly be crippling to their future.

Have you ever tried to read something that is in another language other than the language which you are proficient? Have you ever wondered with the sticks and circles mean ,or maybe you could decode a few words but the rest was simply impossible. My students have this same struggle everyday. They work very hard ,but it can be impossibly frustrating. I am one person. I can only get to them one or two at a time to work on these strategies. This camera would enable me to work with many more in a much more efficient manner. Please consider this. I have the most important job in the world. For most of these students, I am their only chance at becoming a proficient reader. You could really make a huge difference here!!!! Thank you for your help.
