Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our generation witnessed technology change dramatically. From pagers to smart phones. From computers that weighed more than 5 lbs to tablets that weigh ounces. I want to give my students that same experience. Interactive media has been proven to enhance the learning of students with disabilities.

My students are in grades 3-5.

I work with students with autism, emotional disorders, and learning disabilities. I am very lucky to be a chapter in these students' lives. They have regained their self-esteem. They no longer think "I can't" because they've proved themselves wrong. We have built a classroom environment on the basis that anything is possible. All you need to do is take that first step.

My Project

Our community has limited resources as does our school. My students are eager learners who only want the same opportunities students across the country have. They want to be prepared for the future as much as any other student does. Having a Sony tablet will help my students tremendously. My students can use the tablet for all academic subjects. Imagine the possibilities that interactive media can provide for students with disabilities. All of my students learn and retain information much more when they are able to see, hear and touch. Kinesthetic learning interfaced with visual and auditory learning will empower my students' learning across the curriculum.

Help me prepare my students for a fast changing, highly technological world.

With the tablet, their learning will become limitless. Give them the chance they need to be a step ahead.
