In a typical day in my 6th grade social studies classroom, I encourage deep conversations that help students understand the world around them, relating the past to the present and the future. We do this through exploring, questioning, and analyzing people, places, and the world around us.
My students are a rich mixture of kids from various ethnic and economic backgrounds.
Forty seven percent of my students are at or below the poverty level, bringing various degrees of skill level and background experience into the classroom. My students also come from various places around the world, bringing background knowledge and experiences into the classroom that help to educate and encourage discussions.
My Project
The students will use the computer projector to access technology as a class. The projector will give all the students the opportunity to access technology to engage them in the classroom and enrich their learning. The projector will also allow for the integration of technology into the classroom.
This project will make a big difference in the lives of my students.
We have all these amazing resources available to us that we currently cannot access, due to not having access to the technology needed. The students are always using technology and bringing it into the classroom is a great tool to engage students.
