2nd Graders Need Materials for RTI

My students need supplies such as magnetic letters, sight word flash cards, and learning centers to complete meaningful activities during RTI time.

My Students

My students range greatly in reading ability levels. Our daily RTI (response to intervention) time allows me to work in small groups to target each student's' specific needs. While I am working with one group, the other groups are working on meaningful learning activities.

I work at a rural, Title I school.

My students are energetic and love to do hands on activities as opposed to worksheets and lectures. Having a variety of centers available allows me to target their specific needs rather it be remediation, on target practice, or enrichment.

My Project

In small group rotations, groups of 4 students work together to complete activities. Students can use magnetic letters and stamps to practice high frequency and spelling words. They can use game and centers to reinforce skills learned in whole group instruction. Reading is the building block of literacy. These materials will strengthen reading fluency and comprehension which will increase performance in every subject area. It will allow my students to preform better both in the classroom and on standardized assessments for their entire academic career.

Having these supplies will continue and elevate my students' love of learning.

It will allow them to do meaningful educational activities while I am working with a small group. Having a variety means each small group can work on the specific skills they need extra help with. This will ensure all of my students can succeed academically for years to come.
