My Students

Remember your favorite children's book? Remember acting out the characters and telling the story again and again? All thanks to magnificent books!

Students at Young Diplomats Magnet Academy come to school every day with a desire to learn more from reading books.

Young Diplomats Magnet Academy is located in the heart of Harlem, New York and provides an exciting and challenging education to students of low economic- status. Children are provided with the opportunity to discover and enjoy the love of reading no matter their socio-economic status. We believe that every child has the right to enjoy and experience literature.

My Project

Providing this vivid and exciting collection of books will allow for students to not only read children's literature, but own it by reenacting it using story props! Students will discover the magic through reading these books and making them come to life. They will engage in the life of the book which in return will support their curiosity of reading more books.

Using these books and the story props that go along with the books will attract students to dive into loving books and reading as much as possible!

Make it possible for students to enjoy these classical tales that have made so many of us love reading!
